Overview & Highlights

Nestled in the heart of Williams Lake, BC, The Osprey Nest Social House and Eatery is far more than just a restaurant — it’s a true culinary gem that perfectly marries local flavors with an inviting, sophisticated atmosphere. Owned and operated by the Williams Lake First Nation, this eatery radiates a profound sense of community pride, offering guests an authentic taste of British Columbia’s vibrant culinary heritage.

The Osprey Nest’s cuisine celebrates the bounty of the region with a thoughtfully curated menu centered around fresh, quality proteins and unique house-made sauces that bring each dish to life. From the savory crispiness of Bacon Lawrence Meat served in generous slices, to the tender succulence of Wild Pacific Salmon Fillet and the delicately smoked richness of BC Smoked Salmon, every bite tells a story of local tradition and culinary passion.

Vegetarians and health-conscious diners are equally well catered for here, with options like Oven Roasted Tofu and a hearty, flavorful Veggie Patty that never compromise on taste or texture. Complementing these main attractions are an array of house-made sauces and dips — including the subtly sweet Honey Stewed Berries, the nutty depth of Sesame Miso, and the creamy indulgence of Hollandaise — each crafted to elevate every dish with finesse and flair.

The salad offerings, notably the vibrant Osprey Salad and the colorful Rainbow Salad, add freshness and balance, featuring crisp, seasonal ingredients that burst with flavor. Whether you’re savoring the lakeside Caesar or the house salad, freshness and presentation are clearly paramount here.

Guests repeatedly describe The Osprey Nest as a stylish yet cozy haven. Sue Morris’s reflection that it boasts a “stylish building and interior” with a “great outlook over the lake to Scout Island” resonates profoundly. The ambiance is relaxed and welcoming, enriched by the magical view of the sun setting behind Scout Island and the gentle glow of house lights reflecting on the lake, building an atmosphere perfect for everything from an intimate brunch to a memorable dinner.

The Osprey Nest is also a standout choice for special occasions. Lana St.Hilaire shares her experience of hosting a wedding here, praising not just the impeccable presentation of the culinary family-style menu but also the warmth and efficiency of the staff who “completely accommodated the desires of our celebration.” This level of attentive service transforms every meal into a genuine event, making guests feel valued and celebrated.

Brunch at The Osprey Nest is nothing short of spectacular. Jessie McDougall’s glowing account of the Saskatoon waffles, paired with the “best mimosas we’ve ever had,” underscores the kitchen’s creative touch and dedication to quality. Heather Smith’s delight with the eggs Benedict and banana bread French toast, alongside the innovative mocktail offerings like the cranberry Shirley Temple and Cranberry Thyme spritz, showcases the breadth and sophistication of the menu.

The eggs Benedict, in particular, has become a signature dish, praised for its luscious, creamy hollandaise sauce that is thicker and more complex than many others — a creamy umami delight that elevates the classic brunch staple effortlessly. While small menu changes like the temporary absence of the braised beef benedict may occur, diners like Daniel Lu still find plenty to love in each thoughtfully prepared plate.

Whether you’re a local seeking a cherished neighborhood spot or a traveler exploring Williams Lake, The Osprey Nest Social House and Eatery invites you to indulge in an experience where culinary mastery meets warm hospitality and breathtaking views. With a commitment to fresh, made-to-order excellence and an atmosphere that charms every guest, it is a place that leaves a lasting impression and beckons you to return again and again.

Oh my Goodness, what a find! Stylish building and interior, relaxed ambience, just off the 97, with a great outlook over the lake to Scout Island. As the sun sets the house lights around the lake add to the night view. Superb menu, ample choice, all cooked to order so the food is wonderfully fresh and beautifully presented. Veggies have a good choice. Wine list is local BC and very reasonably priced; plenty of “grown-up” alcohol free options available too. Service is efficient and friendly. All in all a wonderful dining experience; certainly the best we’ve experienced so far in our travels around BC.

Wow!! I was completely blown away with the classy ambiance, the complete support from the team for our wedding setup, impeccable presentation of the culinary family style menu, warmth and efficiency of the staff, with service that completely accommodated the desires of our celebration. I had several guest come up to me saying it was an outstanding venue with food that surpassed any wedding they had ever been to. I highly recommend this venue for celebrations of any kind. Thank you so much Osprey team for making this celebration so outstanding!!

Really enjoyed our brunch here! Had the Saskatoon waffles and they were DELICIOUS. the mimosa flight had the best mimosas we’ve ever had. We really enjoyed the decor and atmosphere - classy, cozy, and cute. The staff were all friendly and professional too. We will be back!

The eggs Benedict and banana bread French toast were amazing!! I love the idea of their mocktails menu. We had the cranberry Shirley temple and the Cranberry Thyme spritz.

The benedicts were nice --- the hollandaise was thicker, creamy, more umami, and less acidic than at many other restaurants. The interior is bright and modern. However, be aware that the braised beef benedict was no longer available.

EDIT: In the meantime since my original review, I've been back to The Osprey Nest several times, lunch a few times, as well as brunch and dinner. Each visit has consistently featured great service and good food. It's always a pleasure to return. The new restaurant in Williams Lake, owned and operated by the Williams Lake First Nation, is truly a gem that our community is lucky to have. From the moment I walked through the doors for their soft opening, I was struck by the atmosphere, the building itself is stunning, and stepping inside felt like entering an upscale establishment you'd expect to find in a much larger city. The design elements have been executed so thoughtfully, giving a modern yet comfortable vibe that makes it easy to forget you're still in the Cariboo. The restaurant's view is spectacular, overlooking the lake and Scout Island, creating a serene backdrop to the dining experience. I can already imagine what it will be like to enjoy a warm evening on the covered patio, taking in the sunset while enjoying a great meal, this spot will undoubtedly become a favorite for both locals and visitors. It's places like this that elevate the entire experience of living in or visiting Williams Lake. During the invitation-only soft opening, the food we sampled gave a promising glimpse into what's to come. The menu is carefully curated, with exciting choices that hint at bold flavors and thoughtful preparation. Each dish I tried was crafted with quality ingredients and an impressive level of care,I can't wait to return to try more once they are officially open. The diverse selection of dinner options makes it clear that they intend to offer something truly unique for the area, and I'm particularly excited about the Indigenous-inspired elements that reflect the Williams Lake First Nation's cultural heritage. It's impossible to talk about this restaurant without acknowledging the incredible leadership of Kukpi7 Willie Sellars and the Williams Lake First Nation. Their efforts in bringing yet another fantastic business to our town speak volumes about their commitment to the community and their vision for a thriving future. This restaurant is a testament to their hard work and dedication to building something that benefits everyone here,a place where people can come together, share good food, and enjoy the beauty of this land. For anyone in Williams Lake or planning to visit, this restaurant is set to become a must-visit spot. It's more than just a place to eat,it's a space that brings people together, celebrates the best of what our community has to offer, and showcases the vision and creativity of the Williams Lake First Nation. I feel grateful to have been part of the soft opening and can't wait to return once the doors are fully open. If the soft opening is anything to go by, this restaurant will be a game-changer for the local dining scene.
